The dates for the 2019 Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have been announced, so you can already plan your holiday accordingly if you want to participate in the event.

The theme for the carnival will be chosen at a later date, usually after a popular vote on the internet from a series of proposed themes.
The theme was chosen as usually by popular vote online and over 11 000 people have participated in the vote. The other proposed options were: The fun & modern Japan, El Infierno, The flirty 50s, New York - the city that never sleeps, Africa savanna, Old West and Exotic Thailand.
The poster for the 2019 Carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife has been chosen through popular vote online.
The winner of the competition for the poster is a designer from Tenerife: José Luis Trujillo González, with its creation titled Encarnación del Carnaval Marino.

The authorities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife have announced that the tickets for the contests and galas during the Carnival will be up for sale online starting January 22nd.
The tickets will be sold on the website www.ticketea.com
If you plan to go, the best night is Wednesday, February 27th, during the Gala for the Election of the Carnival Queen 2019.
Tickets for the gala will cost 10€ for general area and 15€ for the special area.

Other towns besides Santa Cruz will also celebrate their own carnivals, usually after the big celebration in the capital is over. Depending on where you are staying on the island you may want to go celebrate at the carnival in Los Cristianos, Los Gigantes or Garachico.
The carnival in Puerto de la Cruz is the second largest on the island and will take place almost in the same period as the one in Santa Cruz.
